Kurdrawm is a center for academic research in the field of democracy and cultural development. We recognize that Kurdish culture, traditions, and literature are deeply embedded in the broader Kurdish history throughout the four parts of Greater Kurdistan, and this has obvious implications for how rich, vast, and vibrant this culture can be. Coming from different backgrounds, both nationally and internationally, our hardworking staff are united by their mission to promote Kurdish culture and literature. KurdRawm English is diligently dedicated to strengthening the cultural ties between the Kurds and other nations and peoples, at national, regional, and international levels.
One of the major barriers to gaining accurate knowledge about the vastness and richness of Kurdish culture and literature is the lack of an English platform to introduce it. Therefore, KurdRawm English is dedicated to contributing extraordinary writings by Kurdish authors to the academic world, so that there is an active digital platform where foreigners can learn about the rich history, language, culture, and literature of Kurdistan.
The English platform will be focused on publishing the following works, translated from Kurdish/ written in English::
The fact that Kurdish culture and literature are relatively unknown in the international community merits some explanation. Simply put, due to the ongoing political instability that has devastated Kurdistan generally, Kurds have often taken a passive role in promoting their vibrant culture and literature to the outside world. To receive international recognition, we need to unfold our extraordinary stories and introduce them to the world, so that we can let the world explore Kurdistan through our rich culture. This is the aim of KurdRawm English.
